They have attempted to redefine both trainers and the formal shoe by adding unusual finishes such as the iridescent glow of a beetle shell on the lace-up and loafer. A black lace-up is given a blue crepe rubber sole as a quirky touch and boots and derbies are given contrasting piping.Viktor & Rolf were never going to reinvent the trainer wheel but they have created some fashion forward options for the lux trainer freak. The rubber sole and high-top aspects are incorporated with the essence of a brogue and its perforated patterning and wingtip detail. Then at the other end of the scale, the quilted trainer takes inspiration from the humble puffer jacket and is available in blue or mandarin. Viktor & Rolf Monsieur shoe collection available from Vertice, London. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
