As revealed on the Versace Instagram last night, the award-laden pop star has signed on the dotted line to become the face of the house’s AW21 series. With four Mert & Marcus-lensed photos dropping ahead of the final launch next week, Dua is seen wearing a yellow dress with sweetheart neckline, a geometric co-ord, and a red cropped top and skirt set, plus the incredible platforms and leather headscarves that punctuated Donatella’s winter collection. She’s also had a bit of a hair transformation, debuting a long, poker-straight copper style, which, tbh, has me considering a dye-job myself. “Dua Lipa!! I can’t tell you how excited and thankful I am to have you as the star of my next campaign. The world is not ready for how GORGEOUS you look in these images! I love you”, Donatella captioned a photo she posted on her own account. Uploading a series of the images to her own IG, Dua called the designer “an icon and a legend”, adding “this day will be one I’ll never forget!!!!” The amount of exclamation points each used suggests they may have been quite excited about the big reveal, but who knows? Of course, Dua Lipa joins a long (LONG!) list of iconic Versace girls. With Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and Claudia Schiffer ruling the roost in the 90s, the new guard includes Adut Akech, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and the house’s first-ever curve model, history-making Precious Lee.
