O Romeo, Romeo! The Beckham teenager stars in Saint Laurent’s new campaign

The 18-year-old takes centre stage of Anthony Vaccarello’s FW21 campaign

It was only a matter of time! Romeo Beckham, Victoria and David’s second-born, has secured his first major fashion campaign. Well, as an adult, that is.

Unveiled on Instagram this week, the 18-year-old is the star of Saint Laurent’s new winter campaign, as lensed by family friend David Sims. Between the rough blonde flecks of his scruffy fringe, the bed-headed starlet brooded in a pair of raw-hemmed short shorts, a checkerboard sweater, a biker bomber, and a polka-dot cravat from Anthony Vaccarello’s FW21 collection for the fashion house.

“So cool, so proud,” his dad said of the monochromatic shots, while Victoria, in full-on mum mode, posted two snaps to her grid, captioned “Wow” and “Oh wow!!!” The popstar-cum-designer also took to Insta this week to showcase her obliging Pride merch – a t-shirt which reads “proud and wanna be your lover” in iridescent rainbow lettering (for which she recruited the other Spice Girls to model).

Actor Lakeith Stanfield also makes an appearance in Saint Laurent’s winter campaign, having scooped best dressed for his custom Saint Laurent jumpsuit – inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic Le Smoking jacket – which he wore to the Oscars back in April.

While the ad marks Lakeith’s fashion campaign debut, it’s old rope for Romeo Beckham, who, under Christopher Bailey’s direction, fronted a string of Burberry campaigns when he was only 12 years old, and just this February, landed his first magazine cover by way of L’Uomo Vogue

Although Romeo is pursuing a career in football, signed to Fortlauderdale FC over in the states, the Beckham dynasty awaits. And if Brooklyn, who has already shot campaigns for Burberry and Pepe Jeans, is anything to go by, Romeo won’t be on the pitch for long.
