An instant fave for its retro aesthetic, it melded Margiela’s signature Tabi boot with Reebook’s 90s Instapump Fury silhouette and came in all-black, all-white, and a colour version that paid homage to the OG sneaker. You might be thinking: ‘How the hell could they improve on that?’ Enter stage left: the Tabi Instapump Fury Oxford. Taking all the best parts of the original hybrid (i.e. all of it), the new silhouette throws a low-top leather derby into the mix too. The newest iteration of the collaboration is brought to life by artist and photographer Jean-Vincent Simonet. Known for his colourful, trippy work, Simonet’s series of still life portraits of each colourway melds the retrofuturistic vibe of the Instapump Fury Oxford with more natural elements – nestled among it all like a flower from a faraway planet. The Maison Margiela x Reebok Tabi Instapump Fury Oxford officially drops on April 30 – get your hands on yours here before they concoct up the next iteration. Escape the algorithm!
