Bimini Bon Boulash’s biggest fashion inspos, from Dalston to Princess Di

Watch the Drag Race UK queen talk us through their longtime obsession with high fashion and 00s pop-culture

Awrite baybes? On the eve of the Drag Race UK finale, we’re coming at you live and direct with exclusive Bimini Bon Boulash content.

Sitting down on Zoom, Bimini takes us through their plethora of catwalk and pop-cultural inspirations from Alexander McQueen's darkest runways, to Mugler's camp-fests, to Galliano's outrageous turns at Dior. The drag race superstar gushes over Paris Hilton, Kate Moss, and Pamela Anderson, the women who (quite frankly) walked so Bimini could run.

Throughout the series, Bimini has taken from this wealth of reference, fashioning some of the most iconic looks in Drag Race herstory. We’ve had Westwood inspired bodice-work, McQueen indebted beauty looks, and that inspired Iris Van Herpen amoeba moment. Consistently editorial and always just so hot. So too was their outing on the Art School runway last month, where The Boulash made a magnifying LFW debut.

And please, we need to address the look they’re giving today. Bimini Bon Bloody Bone Structure is sitting on an afternoon Zoom in a white, faux-fur cowboy hat and matching jacket. A poker-straight blonde wig with starchy red mallen streaks. Eyeliner so black it rivals 00s Avril Lavigne. And a blinged-up pendant cross, which hangs from their neck like the holy vision-cum-music video vixen they are.

Further on in the video, the East London queen regales us with their own journey in fashion, from small-town charity shops, to Topman t-shirts, to Dalston, “where you can wear a bin bag or a lamp on your head”. And what's next? Well, they want to walk for Vivienne Westwood (who conveniently gifted the drag queen just last week). Could this be the start of Bimini Bon Booming the fashion industry? We hope so.

Click below to see for yourself. Honestly, all hail Queen Boulash.
