... plus all the other looks you missed this week, from Rihanna, Devon Lee Carlson, Hunter Schafer, and more
With lockdowns meaning most of us spent the end of the year stuck indoors with family and housemates, this New Year’s Eve was sadly forced to exist without the usual OTT shimmering party looks – in fact, most of us probably spent the night in sweatpants and t-shirts, which sums up 2020 pretty well. According to Instagram, however, all of our fave celebrities still kept the holiday spirit alive, turning out sparkly holiday looks from inside their homes so that our fashion inspo can live on.
Ringing in 2021 in glam style was Hailey and Justin Bieber, who looked chic in YSL, Zendaya, who posed in a sleek grey Alexandre Vaulthier suit, and Bella Hadid, who took to IG to debut a new e-girl-esque hair transformation. As New Year’s Day rolled around, Harry Styles gifted us with his newest music video. Teaming up with Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the two danced around a ballroom in matching Gucci (what else?)
Rounding things off was Hunter Schafer, who celebrated her birthday in a sexy red mesh dress, Devon Lee Carlson, who rocked some vintage finds, and Gwen Stefani, who recreated 18 iconic looks from her career, plus Rihanna, who reminded us all of her fashion killa status as she spent Christmas in Barbados with A$AP Rocky. Check out the rest of the week’s best looks in the gallery below.

Rosalía
This week, Rosalía brought us the escapism we needed with a seaside sunset look. She slipped a sheer dress over black high-waisted underwear, and topped it all off with a pair of chunky black knotted sandals. Most comments consisted of some form of, “What are thooose?” but we’re into it.

Harry Styles
Harry Styles teamed up with Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge for “Treat People With Kindness” – a new track that dropped on New Year’s Day. In the video, the duo danced together in sparkling Gucci suits with matching sweater vests and white flared trousers – the ideal viewing content for our Jan 1 hangovers.

Dua Lipa
Another year, same Dua Lipa fashion inspo. This time round, the pop singer wore a neon pink mini dress with laced up sides and front cut-outs from Poster Girl, rainbow heels, and piled rings on top of mesh gloves – our favourite pandemic-approved accessory.

Hailey and Justin Bieber
In this year’s obligatory New Year’s Insta-post, the Biebers got chic in YSL – Justin in a black suit and Hailey in a strapless black dress with a slicked back bun and gold jewellery. In true Justin style, however, the singer topped off his suit with a backwards baseball hat. Once a sleazebro, always a sleazebro.

Lizzo
So much to unpack here. This week, Lizzo laid poolside in a fluffy matching bikini and coat set, noting in the caption that she’d facetuned her nipple out and hid it somewhere in the pic (can you spot it?). The singer also uploaded a photo of a dog in a matching jacket, and a video of her twerking at sunset in the set. We hope to bring this energy into 2021.

Devon Lee Carlson
Devon Lee Carlson grabbed some coffee in a sustainable look thrifted from The Society Vintage. She wore a stripy rainbow turtleneck jumper layered under embroidered overalls, with a beaded Chanel bag in hand. Something to recreate for our next coffee run, perhaps?

Gwen Stefani
This week, Gwen Stefani recreated 18 of her most iconic looks from the past for her new “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” music video – providing us with our latest dose of noughties nostalgia. Included in the video was her pink look from the 1999 Vogue Fashion Awards, her polka-dot dress from “Don’t Speak”, and the look from No Doubt’s 1995 track "Just A Girl”.

Hunter Schafer
The Euphoria star posted an OOTD from her 22nd birthday this week, looking hot in a red mesh dress over bright blue underwear, and patent thigh-high heeled boots. Finishing it all off was the trend that’s quickly following us from 2020 into 2021 – you’ve got it, a mask.

Rihanna
Rihanna spent Christmas in Barbados with A$AP Rocky this year, which, as expected, led to a major fashion moment. Along with her newly revealed mullet, the singer wore a gold bikini and matching sarong, with heeled sandals that laced up to mid-thigh. Riri captioned the post, "New Year's resolution: apply the pressure." We'd like to hope that means an album's on the way.

Bella Hadid
It seems that Bella Hadid is the latest to hop on the e-girl trend. Just in time for the new year, the supermodel revealed a two-tone front highlights hairstyle – which she styled with a tie-dye hoodie and chunky plastic rings. Extremely into it tbh.
