ICYMI, this week saw Telfar Clemens get another huge celebrity seal of approval. After congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was seen carrying her oxblood tote on the steps of the Capitol building earlier this year, Oprah has also gotten on board, including the shopping bag in her annual list of favourite things.
Elsewhere, Whitney Houston got a Palace collection made in her honour, and, in good or bad news depending on your personal opinion, Emily is set to continue her adventures in Paris. Turns out 2020’s Queen Ringarde is getting a second series.

Megan Thee Stallion reinvents Galliano for 2020
This week, Megan Thee Stallion officially announced her new album, Good News, set to release November 20. The rapper teased the album on IG with a full Galliano inspired newsprint fit – including a bodysuit, gloves and cowboy hat. This time, headlines revolved around Megan’s work advocating for Black women and fighting stereotypes. Read more about the release here.

Burberry models sang in the rain in new campaign
Just a week after announcing a new initiative, in partnership with Marcus Rashford, to fund youth clubs and feed kids across the country, Burberry has now released its 2020 holiday campaign. Alongside imagery shot by Rafael Pavarotti and styled by Ibrahim Kamara, a short film called 'It’s about that fearless spirit and imagination when pushing boundaries' shows dancers Robinson Cassarino, Zhané Samuels, Chantel Foo, and Kevin Bago prancing around a reimagined London – starting at Petticoat Lane and ending at a beach. Gucci reminisced about the office Christmas party
In the era of working from home and your desk being your bed, Gucci’s latest holiday campaign is the perfect antidote for those missing the office. Taking the form of a short film, the label captures all the best bits of the annual Christmas party, including Secret Santa. Carhartt WIP honoured six legendary record labels
For its latest collaboration ‘Relevant Parties Vol.1’, Carhartt WIP joined forces with six indie record labels to create a collection of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Included on the line-up are DFA, Ninja Tune, Public Possession, Ghostly International, Stones Throw, and Jazzy Sport. As well as garments, the collection also includes six limited-edition cassette tapes made in honour of each label. Shop the collab here.

Fendi Roma brought a bit of Christmas joy
Another luxury brand feeling particularly festive this week was Fendi. Releasing a ‘Golden Capsule’ full of OTT floor-length dresses and logomania bodysuits inspired by Studio 54, in the more likely event of a stay-at-home Christmas, the classic Fendi tracksuit also got a festive satin revamp – perfect for winter lounging. Bella Hadid dropped her latest Chrome Hearts collection
Teased earlier this year on Bella’s socials, the model’s latest offering includes 49 one-of-a-kind tie-dyed baby tees, long-sleeve and short-sleeved t-shirts. Each t-shirt has been dyed by none other than Miss Hadid herself, with all the proceeds from the collection will go towards Feeding America. Shop Chrome Hearts here.

Supreme cashed in $$$
On Monday, it was announced that VF Corporation bought out cult streetwear brand Supreme for $2.1 billion (casual), adding the streetwear label to a roster including Vans, Timberland, and The North Face.
Speaking on what this acquisition would mean for the label’s business model, the chief executive of VF, Steve Rendle, said “That model has done extremely well and there’s no reason why that would change.” So there you go. Read more here.

Proenza Schouler released a coffee table tome
2020 has seen designers shift and adapt in a multitude of ways, with many skipping physical shows in favour of videos of digital content. Among them are Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who are taking things old school with a new, limited edition book. Captured by photographer Daniel Shea, its pages lay bare the processes behind their SS21 collection, and see models including Binx Walton and Saskia de Brauw modelling the clothes. Ghanaian designers adapted in the face of COVID-19
Set to relaunch this season, the coronavirus pandemic threw a spanner in the works for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Accra. Instead of showing IRL as planned, like many others around the world, the city’s rising designers made moves to figure out another way to showcase their work. The result was a presentation that brought what’s going on in the Ghanaian capital’s creative scene to the world – with the likes of Steve French, Atto Tetteh, and Chloe Asaam showing off their new-season collections through intimate photo stories.

Helmut Lang announced a new artist collab
True to Helmut Lang’s longstanding tradition of collaboration, the brand’s latest project is named ‘SEEN BY’ and sees three artists work on their own photo series. Each artist reinterprets and imagines the latest Helmut Lang collection through their own perspective and vision. For the latest instalment of the project, artist Paul Mpagi Sepuya took a series of self-portraits at home, after his plan to shoot with Helena Tejedor was disrupted by the pandemic. Virgil Abloh is suing an ice cream brand
Off-White have filed a lawsuit against American ice cream chain Afters for selling merch emblazoned with branding that closely resembles the fashion label’s – with one tee even riffing on its name by turning it from Off-White to ‘Off-Diet’ (see what they did there?). It’s not the first time a problem re; Virgil Abloh’s branding has been on the table – with the designer himself often asked if he’d taken inspiration from Glasgow Airport’s graphics when it came to kick-starting his label. Artist Jeremy Deller joins up with Aries Arise
Another collab to add to our list of lockdown must-haves – streetwear fashion label Aries has joined up with Jeremy Deller for a collection of tablewear. The artist takes inspo from Stonehenge and Neolithic sites surrounding Wiltshire for the collab, which showcases graphic designs on mugs and plates. The collection drops November 15.
