The rapper hinted at a project backstage at the French designer’s AW20 show
Whether he’s sitting next to Lou Doillon at Gucci or Rihanna at Louis Vuitton, A$AP Rocky is usually somewhere to be found when fashion season rolls around and the circus begins. This time round was no different, with the rapper caught backstage at the AW20 Marine Serre show, wearing an unreleased item of clothing created by the French designer.
Kitted out in a black puffa jacket, covered in the crescent moon motif Serre has become known for, Rocky revealed in an interview with Vogue Paris the piece was co-designed by himself and AWGE.
“Check out my outfit,” he said. “This coat was my favourite look, it’s not in the show yet because it was co-designed by yours truly and AWGE.”
Also revealing how much he admired Serre’s show, which continued to explore themes of survival and the evolution of fashion post-apocalypse, the Rocky remained relatively coy about the rest of the collaboration, ending the interview segment by looking off camera and laughing.
Although no further details have yet been revealed, this will not be the first time A$AP and AWGE have joined forces with a luxury fashion label. Back in 2016, the creative platform, set up by A$AP Rocky and the rest of his Mob collective, worked with JW Anderson to create a series of beanies, fur jackets, and track pants.
