Chloë Sevigny gets inspired by FRUiTS for Opening Ceremony collab

90s Japan meets 70s Italy in their latest collection

Actor and Dazed cover star Chloë Sevigny continues to cement herself as a fashion icon. Walking for Simone Rocha earlier this year, appearing alongside Uma Thurman on the Miu Miu runway for the brand’s Resort 2019 show, and staring on Dazed’s latest Fashion Made Me Hardcore issue, the American actor has secured another fashion collaboration in the form of her newest Opening Ceremony collection.

Based on her love of vintage silhouettes, the campaign sees Sevigny donning a Sailor Moon styled wig while roaming the streets of Padua, Italy. Shot and styled by Haley Wollens, the collection combines a 70s aesthetic with Japanese street style, inspired by renowned publication FRUiTS.

With every piece reflecting Sevigny’s distinctive style, the capsule features rah-rah skirts, flared jeans, and ruffled mini dresses. Alongside this, there are polo tops, cropped jackets, and plain t-shirts embossed with an image of a younger Sevigny.

Speaking on the collaboration, which is her seventh with the label, Sevigny said that this project was a natural progression for her. “Each time I have worked on a collection, it is always pieces that I want to wear personally and I want to see my friends in. Also, the desire to create pieces that can work on all shapes and sizes. This collaboration is a result of that,” she explained.

Set to launch on October 22nd, the collection will be available online and at Opening Ceremony shops in New York, LA, and Tokyo.
