Milan Fashion Week is over and done with for another season, with the likes of Prada, Gucci, and Versace (with a little help from J.Lo) presenting what we’re all likely to be wearing a few months down the line come SS20.
Also showing as part of the MFW schedule was FILA, which made its second-ever appearance on the runway in the city after skipping a season. Debuting a See Now, Buy Now collection for another season, the Italian label once again pulled inspiration from its heritage and picked up where its SS19 offering left off.
With logo-emblazoned outerwear and more casual looks including tracksuits, tank tops, and t-shirts in the brand’s signature red and white hues making up much of the collection, SS20 saw its line grow with the addition of more refined and glam looks in the form of draped, waterfall neckline dresses and slinky sequined minis, as well as a series of holographic and high-shine utilitarian jackets.
Many looks were finished with accessories that felt simultaneously futuristic and retro: think wraparound visor shades and duffle bags featuring F-box detailing, as well as giant gym totes and smaller but just as impactive waist bags.
Elsewhere, as part of the co-ed show, models wearing neoprene hoodies and slouchy track pants clashed with refined tailored trousers and sleek jackets also made their way down the runway, alongside looks which incorporated brightly hued rain boots and bucket hats, monochromatic bikinis, and louche, oversized overalls with uniquely tactile finishes. And naturally, sneakers featured heavily: among them, a sparkling, crystal-encrusted iteration of the FILA Disruptor.
