Since the very start of her career, she has championed a very distinctive aesthetic comprising oversized tracksuits, hoodies, and shirts. Yesterday, the 17-year-old singer posted a picture in a graphic-printed XXL shirt and bottoms two-piece set. The look comes courtesy of her capsule collection with LA-based streetwear label Freak City, which launched yesterday. Alongside the post was a caption which read: “If only I dressed normal I’d be so much hotter, yeah yeah come up with a better comment. I'm tired of that one.” Just last month, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Eilish revealed that part of the reason she began wearing oversized clothing was to protect herself during her struggle with body dysmorphia. "I’ve never felt comfortable in really tiny clothes. I was always worried about my appearance. I couldn’t look in the mirror at all,” she said in the interview, speaking on the peak of her struggles. Elsewhere, two weeks ago she called out Nylon Germany for putting an edited version of her on their cover without consent. The cover depicted a bald, topless version of Eilish, to which she responded to by commenting "youre gonna make a picture of me shirtless?? thats not real?? at 17? and make it the cover???? even if the picture was supposed to look like some robot version of me … i did not consent in any way." Coming out at the other end, it's clear Eilish cares less about opinions on her appearance now. So haters – keep your comments to yourselves.
