@lalamichFashionNewsTommy Cash and Rick Owens just dropped a new merch collectionThe Estonian rapper and the Dark Lord of high fashion have teamed up on a series of hoodies, t-shirts, and a ‘mini Soviet carpet’ShareLink copied ✔️September 3, 2019FashionNewsTextJessica Heron-Langton Having already worked together in both music and art, Estonian rapper Tommy Cash and designer Rick Owens have teamed up once again. This time they’ve joined forces in the realm of fashion, creating merch for the “Pussy, Money, Weed” singer. Featuring a hoodie, a t-shirt, and a ‘mini-Soviet carpet’ (because, why not?), the collection is simple in design and affordable in price, with pieces costing between 35-55 euros. With each piece emblazoned with dual logo detailing, the line is comparatively tame for Cash who has referred to himself as the ‘colourful Rick Owens’. “Usually Rick Owens’ creations are much more expensive. I wished to bring globally-renowned fashion closer to people,” Cash explains of the motivation behind the collection. “I wanted to give people an opportunity to buy a piece of work from a legendary designer with a reasonable price.” Despite their differing backgrounds and practices, Cash and Owens have worked together a lot in recent years. In late 2018, the Paris-based designer lent his voice to Cash’s song “MONA LISA”, while the Eastern-European rapper modelled in Owens’ SS19 menswear show, for which he also created the show’s soundtrack. Earlier this summer, the pair also branched out of their respective fields, creating a collaborative art exhibition entitled The Pure and The Damned, at Tallinn’s Kumu Art Museum. Shedding some light on why the two have continued to work together, Owens told Dazed last year, “Tommy’s music is intimate, raw, modern, and weird. I wish I was him.” The collection is now available here.
