Humberto Kim and Carol Lim are leaving Kenzo

The design duo will present their last collection during PFW after eight years at the brand

After eight years at the helm of Kenzo, design duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim have announced that they will be leaving the label to focus on Opening Ceremony

“Humberto and Carol consistently brought diversity and inclusion to the forefront at Kenzo,” Sylvie Colin, chief executive officer tells WWD. “Their  collections, fashion shows, advertising, and special projects to engaged and galvanised a new generation of creatives.”

In addition to their two collections a year – the pair took the house co-ed from AW17 – Leon and Lim worked extensively on big film moments, collaborating with the likes of Akinola Davies, Spike Jonze, and Ana Lily Amirpour. There’s also that time Britney fronted their Memento 2 collection, photographed by Peter Lindbergh

The design duo will present their last collection for Kenzo at the upcoming SS20 menswear shows during PFW. The announcement for their successors will likely follow shortly after – and so, the rumour mill about who will be next to helm the house starts to turn.
