Versace just brought another iconic 90s super back to the runway

Oh hi Stephanie Seymour!

Day three of Milan Fashion Week: the AW19 edition and tonight we’re with Donatella, as the legendary designer presents exactly what she has in store for us next season (spoiler: it’s q sexy). Here’s everything you missed.

THE SET FEATURED A GIANT SAFETY PIN

Things were pretty stripped back this season, with a black carpeted runway lined by lights forming a figure of eight in the show space. At the centre of it, though, was an enormous gold safety pin embossed with the iconic Medusa figurehead synonymous with the label, which models walked under as they took their lap.

ALL OF DONATELLA’S FAVE GIRLS WALKED

But I mean, does that come as a surprise? On the line-up tonight were the likes of Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Adut Akech, and Binx Walton, as well as Dazed cover girls Hannah Motler and Fran Summers.

...BUT IT WASN’T ALL ABOUT THE NEW GEN

Over the course of the last few seasons, Donatella has been bringing some iconic faces back to the runway. Among them, was Shalom Harlow, who walked the label’s SS19 show, and OG supers Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, and Cindy Crawford, who reunited for SS18 on the 20th anniversary of founder Gianni’s death. This time around, it was Stephanie Seymour who made an appearance, closing the show in a long black gown.

THE COLLECTION WAS V V V VERSACE

On the line-up for AW19 were satin slip-dresses, pencil skirts, and tight-fitting tops, all in a palette of acid green, orange, and yellow, some of which were overlaid with bondage-y cage-like bras and corsets. Elsewhere, models wore high-shine coats and skirts made from patent leather croco fabric with (faux) fur stoles in bright colours, chunky woolly beanies, and quilted, monogrammed clutches. Finishing things off were a series of printed tees featuring images by Richard Avedon, which were created with the support of the legendary photographer’s foundation, as well as a new print featuring Versace's many perfume bottles
