Malin + Goetz founded by Andrew Goetz, the previous marketing director for Swiss-based Vitra and Matthew Malin cosmetic buyer from Sak's, Kiehl's and Helmut Lang Parfums, has long been a family-run business that subscribes the philosophy of using gentle ingredients and simple step regimens based on their idea of hydration science. Now with the opening of their second Manhattan Boutique on Amsterdam Avenue and the Corner of 82nd Street and distribution to nearly 400 outlets worldwide, the brand has come a long way since their first store in Osaka, Japan.
The new store designed by local architect Craig Konyk of Konyk Architecture in Brooklyn who also worked on numerous galleries and homes, is a sleek spa featuring ornate, neoclassical walnut panels and modern white counters adding a clinical edge. Their own products are created to be symbolic of the natural combined with the technological demonstrated by their newest additions, Petitgrain Tonic and Synthesized Geranium Leaf that take their line of eau de toilettes to six total, to be worn individually or layered. For 2009 they introduced the Problem Solution Focus range including the Peppermint Shampoo, Cilantro Conditioner and the Sage Styling Cream to add to their daily haircare products.

Malin + Goetz available at Liberty, London.
