Behold! Cardi B wears the ugly sneaker to end all ugly sneakers

In awe etc

Just when you thought we’d reached peak ugly sneaker, back in June, Dean and Dan Caten proved us all wrong with a towering behemoth of a kick: the Dsquared2 GIANT. I mean, just look at it – what else was it going to be called exactly?

Standing at approx 2.7 metres high (possibly) the gargantuan style features what looks like not one, but two pairs of chunky, 90s-style sports sneakers layered on top of one another to form a sizeable wedge, which, tbh, would have the Triple S cowering in fear were it not actually an inanimate object. It’s not the first time the Milan-based label has sent some seriously radical looking footwear down the runway, though. Remember its cowboy boot/flip-flop hybrid for AW18?

Now, the Giant has been seen in the wild for what is potentially the first time, on the feet of none other than Cardi B who posted a photo of them on IG last night. The rapper has been taking some pretty big risks when it comes to fashion in 2018, and in recent months has been spotted wearing everything from scribbly couture-inspired Moschino and feathered Christian Cowan power suits, to Balenciaga’s 3D printed neo-tailoring – which is why she made it in at no. two on our list of the most stylish people of 2018

In the accompanying caption, Cardi writes: ‘Bitch sit down before I sit you’. Or, as is more likely, stomp on you – stage intruders beware.
