The show was a visceral, immersive performance in which an army of models made their way through the space, marching in unison, before a figure eventually emerged from a huge box in the middle of the runway covered in (fake) blood, and crawled across the floor through the debris – as the audience looked on in ACW customised goggles and masks. Before that collection starts dropping in stores next year, though, Ross has AW18 on his mind – with the designer presenting his new-season campaign earlier this week. Continuing in the same vein as the label’s SS19 campaign, the images offer a stripped back look at the collection, with the designer’s utilitarian, multi-pocketed vests, cropped trousers and signature panelled outerwear featuring throughout. Shot in a stark, concrete space by longtime collaborator, photographer Hamish Stephenson, the campaign was inspired by ‘the concise colour pairings and coding of the colour palettes found within British establishments’ including The National Gallery. Whether the A-COLD-WALL* branded clay slabs that the model carries on his back in some of the shots will be available for purchase is currently unknown. Watch this space.
