Now, the Parisian label has moved on to the next chapter its second new-season film. Inkeeping with the previous film’s aesthetic, the new release – which drops exclusively on Dazed – is entitled Film Noir, and unsurprisingly has a film noir look to it, with models posing in a dark room. Directed by the house’s creative director, Clare Waight Keller, at the centre of the film is a floodlight which flashes over the models’ and reveals glimpses of their looks. There’s also a pretty fast-paced soundtrack. “I love the idea of dark elegance, something very elevated, with a special element of edge: that feels very Givenchy to me. Our very own version of Film Noir,” Waight Keller explains of the film. “I wanted to picture an adrenaline rush, embodied by a group of runaways chased by searchlights. Those mysterious characters that you cross paths with once in your life and that stay with you forever, like a surreal encounter.” Fans of the Parisian house won’t have long to wait for the next instalment from Waight Keller. She will debut her third ready-to-wear collection on September 30 during PFW. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
