A gang of Givenchy-wearing runaways star in the label’s new film noir

The Parisian house releases its second AW18 campaign film, directed by Clare Waight Keller

Last month, Givenchy released the first images of its AW18 collection – dropping a Steven Meisel-shot video featuring hot models dancing and making out. Now, the Parisian label has moved on to the next chapter its second new-season film.

Inkeeping with the previous film’s aesthetic, the new release – which drops exclusively on Dazed – is entitled Film Noir, and unsurprisingly has a film noir look to it, with models posing in a dark room. Directed by the house’s creative director, Clare Waight Keller, at the centre of the film is a floodlight which flashes over the models’ and reveals glimpses of their looks. There’s also a pretty fast-paced soundtrack.

“I love the idea of dark elegance, something very elevated, with a special element of edge: that feels very Givenchy to me. Our very own version of Film Noir,” Waight Keller explains of the film. “I wanted to picture an adrenaline rush, embodied by a group of runaways chased by searchlights. Those mysterious characters that you cross paths with once in your life and that stay with you forever, like a surreal encounter.”

Fans of the Parisian house won’t have long to wait for the next instalment from Waight Keller. She will debut her third ready-to-wear collection on September 30 during PFW
