Kiko Kostadinov and Camper join forces on new footwear collection

The London-based menswear designer reinvents the shoemaker’s classic style for AW18

First announced in January, Kiko Kostadinov’s collaboration with contemporary footwear brand, Camper is almost here. This will be the second time that the London-based designer has delved into shoes, following his partnership with sneaker brand ASICS at the beginning of the year.

Hitting Dover Street Market today, the collection – composed of three distinct styles of the ‘Teix’ trekking boot – explores the fusion of performance and design. Kostadinov, whose work focuses on innovative pattern cutting and intricate garment construction, is often influenced by uniforms and workwear – making this partnership a fitting one, given Camper’s utilitarian aesthetic.

Reinventing one of the Spanish brand’s most classic concepts, the series consists of chunky-soled, hard-wearing boots in three earthy colourways with contrasting branding on the tongue.

Set to influence the next generation of outdoor-inspired urban footwear, the campaign embodies Kostadinov and Camper’s values of individuality and diversity. Shot by Gareth McConnell in an overexposed, low-fi style, and with art direction from Dazed’s art director Jamie Andrew Reid, the images capture the leather and mesh panels of the ‘Teix’ in a way that provokes feelings of movement and action.

The collaboration will hit Dover Street Market, London today via an in-store installation.
