Vetements leaves men’s fashion week… again?

We can’t keep up :(

Okay, so we’ll be the first to admit that the fashion industry is often confusing. Among all the recent moves – Kim Jones moving to Dior Homme, Virgil Abloh joining Louis Vuitton, Kris Van Assche taking over at Berluti etc – Vetements has announced that it will not be showing at the upcoming SS19 menswear shows.

That’s right. After returning for just one season, the label – helmed by designer Demna Gvasalia – will be moving back to the Couture schedule. Why? Well, why not? Never one to do things traditionally, since it debuted, the Parisian brand has gone from showing during menswear to moving to Couture, left the schedule entirely, rejoined again, and now is moving back to Couture. Yep.

Fans of Gvasalia’s designs won’t even be appeased with Balenciaga, as the designer decided to go co-ed for the last show, presenting menswear and womenswear together on the women’s schedule. For now, you’ll just have to wait patiently until Vetements presents its SS19 show on July 1.
