Kaia Gerber just landed her first Chanel campaign

The 16-year-old model stars in the shots of the Parisian house’s SS18 handbag collection

Earlier this month, model and activist Adwoa Aboah posed for her first Chanel campaign. Now, it’s Kaia Gerber’s turn to step in front of the camera for the Parisian house.

With three Chanel shows already under her belt – the most recent at the house’s SS18 couture show – the 18-year-old model has now bagged herself the SS18 handbag campaign, photographed, as always, by Karl Lagerfeld. Shot in founder Coco’s house, in the very same room she used to entertain in, Gerber appears in a number of looks from the new season collection. Elsewhere, the star of the images are the transparent CC-emblazoned handbags. We told you they were trending!

Fronting the campaign is naturally a big deal, even for a model who has walked for Calvin Klein, Prada, Versace, and Fendi this season. With Paris Fashion Week well underway and Chanel’s AW18 show fast-approaching; don’t doubt that Gerber will make an appearance there too.
