Offering a break from the schedule is Converse’s One Star Hotel, which opens its doors for check-in this Friday. In celebration of the brand’s new One Star collection, the five-floor hotel features a hotel-style gift shop and a secret stock-room and a series of newly-released sneakers and re-stocks, as well as a cinema showing Converse’s new skater movie Downtime. Elsewhere, there are a number of rooms curated by creatives including rappers A$AP Nast, and Yung Lean, and fashion labels Paria Farzaneh and MadeMe, in addition to a games room where rare ‘Year of the Dog’ One Stars are up for grabs. Unlike most hotels though, relaxation is off the cards, as the brand states there will be ‘zero sleep’ when checking in. Keeping guests up will be performances from Princess Nokia, IAMDDB and Slowthai (to name but a few), as well as a series of workshops and talks with creatives from around the world.
