The 2017 runway show will be a revolutionary turn for the brand, marking a new era of creative direction with Simons at the helm. According to WWD, the show will take place on February 10 and will take the slot of womenswear on the ready-to-wear schedules. It will also follow the same format of Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer consecutively. Bottega Veneta has also committed to this move, having also recently announced upcoming shows that feature both genders. Raf Simons has always been one for bold moves in fashion, continually embodying a youthful aspect in his work. While Calvin Klein remains at the forefront of mainstream fashion, Simons has stated he wants to change things. Simons stated in the Summer ‘14 issue of Dazed: “I’ve come to really question the system. As much as I am part of it, I have to question it for the simple reason that I wonder how far it can go.” In the same month, Simons will also show his eponymous collection at NYFW: Men’s for the very first time. Previously, the designer has exclusively shown his menswear looks in Paris. The location for his New York show has yet to be disclosed. Calvin Klein AW16 campaignEscape the algorithm!
