Smith’s relationship with Chanel long precedes this campaign – the star has been wearing the brand for years and, in 2014, met its creative director Karl Lagerfeld on a shoot for V magazine. It was to be a fateful meeting for Smith who, after attending Chanel’s AW16 runway show in Paris last March, was revealed to be one of the house’s brand ambassadors – joining Depp and the likes of Tilda Swinton, Kristen Stewart, Keira Knightly and Gisele Bündchen. Then, in July, the Society Management-signed model was announced as the star of Chanel’s new eyewear campaign which is photographed, as they nearly always are, by Lagerfeld himself. Here are the BTS images and film clips from the shoot, featuring the star posing in a photo booth and in the designer’s library.
