And now we’ve been treated to a first look of the 18-piece collection. Set to drop on the January 14, “Love” is exactly what any Courtney Love fan would expect: frilly lingerie dresses, slips and lace 90s crops. The line up echoes the Hole frontwoman’s onstage appearance and according to Vogue, those looks were used as archival research. “There were photos,” Love said, “and I had a few (pieces) that I had saved. We went through some of my rock-star ’90s stuff and redid that in a more modern context, and some new things as well.” There will also be two shoes; a mesh stiletto and a Mary Jane with sparkling heel. Thankfully, despite it being a celebrity hook-up, we might be able to fork out for a couple of pieces since they range from a modest $48 to $188. Perhaps the most pleasing thing about these designs is that it’s very clear Love has had total creative control. As she told Vogue, “I wasn’t going to be on it if it wasn’t a real collaboration, so, it really is.” It’s basically like dipping into Love’s bulging dramatic lacy wardrobe. We’re 100 per cent sold.
