The inaccessibility of fashion shows may soon be a thing of the past. Earlier this month Riccardo Tisci invited members of the public to Givenchy’s Marina Abramović art-directed show in New York, and more recently, Simon Porte Jacquemus launched “I want to come to the show” project, giving people the chance to come to his label’s presentation in Paris later this month. Now, Marques’Almeida have done the same, holding a competition on Instagram for tickets to their show in London.
“We want to give you and your best friends tickets to our show!” write the brand’s founders Marta Marques and Paolo Almeida. “Take an M’A inspired photo of you and the friends you want to take to the show with #marquesalmediafriends to win tickets! We want to see how you interpret M’A and how we inspire you!”
This competition is open until 6pm tonight so there’s still time for you to enter. The show itself is taking place tomorrow at 12pm as part of London Fashion Week’s official schedule, at a mystery location which is disclosed on the invitation.
Since bursting onto the fashion scene in 2011, the Portuguese-born CSM grads have earned a reputation for their raw cut denim and 90s nostalgia. Last season, they debuted a collection inspired by an editorial shoot by Corinne Day that was published in cult style bible The Face in 1993. Stay tuned for coverage of their SS16 offering.
