The Louis Vuitton menswear style director will be discussing cult references and subcultural tribes with Dazed’s editor-in-chief Isabella Burley at the event on July 25, held at the Amazon Fashion Photographic Studio in Shoreditch. Not got your ticket yet? There’s still time – head here for info. Jones’ collections always contain a myriad of subcultural and artistic references, so this topic is one he’s well-versed in. His AW15 collection for Louis Vuitton paid tribute to Christopher Nemeth – an unsung hero of British fashion, famous for his deconstructed tailored suits and drawings depicting needles and thread. And he's worked directly with cult figures too – for his AW13 collection, he collaborated with anarchic artistic duo Jake and Dinos Chapman. Head here to read them in conversation. But Jones isn’t the only fashion heavyweight featured on the line-up – designer Gareth Pugh will be speaking on the medium of fashion film; Diesel’s creative director Nicola Formichetti on youth culture tribes; and make-up alchemist Isamaya Ffrench on the art of make-up. There will be live demonstrations too – including a shoot of panelists by photographer Rankin and a sculpture by set designer Gary Card. Plus, you'll have you opportunity to have your portrait painted by cult designer Claire Barrow – a portrait that will be transferred onto one of her iconic t-shirts.
