Moss, Campbell, Williams and 57 other distinguished figures have been photographed by Andy Gotts wearing t-shirts designed by Westwood herself. These images been been put on display at London Waterloo station – a stone’s throw from the headquarters of one of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies, Shell, who are planning to drill in Alaskan Arctic waters. “This is a matter of life and death - if we don't save the arctic, the human race will not survive,” said Westwood, explaining the importance of this campaign. Obviously this isn’t the designer’s first foray into politicial activism – she’s been consistently outspoken on environmental issues such as fracking. In December of last year, she turned up to 10 Downing Street, unannounced, to deliver a parcel of asbestos to David Cameron. Why? To illustrate the potential health risks of the oil and gas extraction process. She even titled her SS16 men's show last month “Say it: Politicians R criminals”, in reference to the actions of the Transatlantic Trade And Investment Partnership (TTIP) and its plans to “wreck our planet.” Fancy joining the fight?
