Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel sets are always an extravagant surprise. For this season’s Haute Couture show today, he transformed a Paris space into his own casino, complete with slot machines and CC decorated tables where croupiers dealt cards to celebrity VIPs as models walked past. Campaign girl and actress Kristen Stewart gambled at one table with Julianne Moore and Lara Stone, while 16-year-old Lily Rose Depp (daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis) linked arms with Lily Collins before sitting down to play. Others, including French actress Isabelle Huppert and singer Rita Ora also put in an appearance. With dark brows, rouged cheeks, red lips and severely bobbed hair, models walked in quilted suits and feathered, embellished gowns. Dazed cover star Kendall Jenner closed the show in a white wedding two-piece with a long train. With Europe teetering on the brink of an economic catastrophe, what was Karl trying to say with his set?
