FashionOverdoseDazed Overdose Thurs 5th Feb: Karen LangleyHeading straight out after a busy week, a jam packed day of Balenciaga, Balmain, Rick Owens and RochasShareLink copied ✔️March 6, 2009FashionOverdose Managed to pull myself out of bed this morning after a busy week working on Peachoo + Krejberg then Gareth's after party and after after party just in time for the 10am Balenciaga show only to find out that I was confirmed for the 12pm show. Uh!It was worth the wait. A hyper eighties collection with shoes that transported the shoulder pads and prints of the collection to the next decade, or if not the one after. All set within the amazing surroundings of Hotel Crillon. After a couple of appointments and collecting our David from the eurostar we were off to Balmain. Of course the shoulders won the show once more but the seventies sound track put a smile on everyones face.Rick Owens was a treat. The collection started with the black, leather layering that the label has coined it's own but then suddenly models carrying the same silhoeutte came stomping out in an ethereal white. Fur headresses and make-up came together so that each girl coming down the runway looked like the albino form of their former selves. Sasha P wore the look well - she looked like she was going to beam us all up to some distant planet. We then met Marco Zanini, designer of the relaunched and reinvented Rochas collection whose beautiful 40s inspired collection was presented like fragile pieces of art.
