From 90s Dazed cover girl to high fashion muse, get a sneak peek at the photobook celebrating the style queen
“Chloë is the girl of the moment because the moment needs her more than she needs the attention.” So declared the May 1996 issue of Dazed, where 20-year-old cover star Chloë Sevigny talked losing her virginity at 15, appearing naked in a Sonic Youth music video and working with then-boyfriend Harmony Korine and director Larry Clark on the recently released Kids. It was early days for the Sassy intern turned it-girl, but she already had the hallmarks of an upcoming underground fashion icon – confirmed by a recently fronted campaign for Miu Miu. Having since been the face of Chloé, racked up a whole lot of cult film credits (American Psycho, The Brown Bunny, Party Monster) and had her own line with Opening Ceremony, Sevigny has become an entire generation’s enduring style icon. Now, a new book, courtesy of Rizzoli, is chronicling her life in pictures – from her days as a 90s skater girl hanging out in Washington Square Park to life as high fashion muse, it’s the ultimate ode. Get a sneak peek in the gallery above, and head here for Chloë Sevigny's top style moments.
Chloë Sevigny, published by Rizzoli, will be available from 21 April, 2015
