A tribute: For the milestone anniversary of the brand and his third season at the helm, creative director Alessandro Dell’Acqua brought the past into the present as Rochas’ heritage was reworked in a way that was retrospective but still relevant. Heart-shaped, decorated necklines and cinched-waist silhouettes (classic looks of founder Marcel Rochas) were twisted with texture and fabric, like fuzzy bumblebee yellow fleece. Also lifted from the archives were the almost Sailor Jerry swallow prints, flocked and dusted with glitter. From delicate sheer lace to feathered hems, fur detailing to billowing silk, the mix-and-match of textures made for an innovative take on the traditional – a credit to Dell’Acqua’s talent for for hyperfeminine innovation. How it was worn: The likes of new industry favourite Molly Bair and Dazed cover star Jamie Bochert walked with slicked-back hair, thick-rimmed square sunglasses and 60s-style graphic eyeliner. The shoes were leather, with delicate ankle straps – but made modern by the addition of glittering spikes and added furs.
