The first model came out wearing a cream military coat decorated with winding tufts of pink fur, proving that there is fun in rules and precision. The game plan: Snakes and Ladders, Connect Four and Ludo were three board games that inspired the designers for this season’s surface embellishment. “We started with the layout and the dynamics of board games with all their different elements – from the design of the circuit, to the equipment like dice and tokens which are so great to place on clothes,” explained Pilotto post-show. Adrenaline rush: Belgian DJ Michiel Helbig soundtracked the show with a remix of minimal house, sped up by the addition of digital gaming sounds. Graphics and colours that started out pale and soft at the beginning echoed this audible crescendo, as the collection reached a higher level of embellishment towards the close.
