John Galliano will be showing his first ever collection for Maison Martin Margiela in London, Business of Fashion reports. The newly appointed creative director was originally scheduled to debut his first 'Artisanal' collection during Paris Couture Week in January, but the show has now been moved to January 12 in his native London.

The new date clashes with the final day of London Collections: Men, which means that a few unlucky menswear designers will have to compete for the attention of fashion editors on the same day.

Last week, Galliano was in town for the British Fashion Awards, where he presented Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour with an Outstanding Achievement Award.

Wintour wore a Galliano-designed Margiela dress, providing an initial – and so far, the only – peek at what Galliano's reign at Margiela resembles. But it looks like London will have the very first glimpse of what Galliano has in store for the revered house.
