According to WWD, Karl Lagerfeld has tapped the "Get Lucky" beatmaker to star in a new film that will be screened at the Chanel pre-fall collection. The movie also features Lagerfeld muse Cara Delevingne and six-year-old Hudson Kroenig, who walked with dad Brad Kroenig for Chanel SS11. Details are thin on the ground for now – all we know is that filming took place in a Paris studio last week and Delevingne and Kroenig are playing Pharrell's dance partners. But expect something extravagant to match the luxury and excess of Chanel's annual Métiers d’Art collection, which serves to highlight the craftsmanship of its ateliers. Before last year's show, Lagerfeld premiered The Return, a 25-minute period drama that starred Geraldine Chaplin as Coco Chanel and Chanel favourite Amanda Harlech as Vogue fashion editor Bettina Ballard. Given the recent news about Pharrell and Cara's musical collaboration, part of us thinks that there'd be no better way to launch Delevingne's career than debuting her first song at a Chanel show. The film premieres on 2 December with the pre-fall collection, which will be showcased at the Schloss Leopoldskron, an 18th century Austrian palace.
