This season, J.W. Anderson paid homage to the work of French filmmaker Jacques Tati (revered for his wordless comedies about confusion), and today it seemed that Anderson was ever so slightly toying with the same sense of humour. Case in point, the ridiculously oversized leather hats by Noel Stewart that obscured the models' faces – suspended architecture with bite. Stand-out looks: Geometric red leather dresses, tapestry style knitwear with leather patches and garments featuring leather lapels bound by rope that fell from the body. How it was worn: With chunky ‘avant-bland’ heels, rippled leather gloves that came up to the models' elbows and metallic jigsaw piece chokers. Not to mention this season’s most coveted accessory – J.W. Anderson’s oversized leather sun hats. Bigger has always been better, after all.
