Zombie girl gangs run riot in the suburbs for Jeff Bark's haunting November issue shoot

In the lead-up to Halloween, Dazed Digital is running a Dark Arts season inspired by our November Dark Arts issue. Among other things, we've walked the path of darkness via the Hollywood Walk of Death and talked to Don Mancini, the creator of Chucky. Check back on our Dark Arts section for a journey to hell and back.

Death never looked so good. The corpses of Jeff Bark's zombie housewives spring to life in a '50s reawakening soundtracked by the languid sounds of The Beach Boys. Styled by fashion director Robbie Spencer, the Stepford wives' steely gaze is just an affront. Underneath it all, they're just like us – they hoover, spritz and go on picnic lunches. Here, the five models cum zombies answer some quick questions in our Dark Arts pop quiz.

Anouk Hagemeijer at DNA models

DD: What makes you go bump in the night?

Anouk Hagemeijer: My boyfriend’s snoring.

DD:  If you were a vampire, who would like to bite?

Anouk Hagemeijer: Ryan Gosling.

DD: Dinner with Dracula, lunch with the exorcist or a weekend with peeping Tom?

Anouk Hagemeijer: Lunch with the exorcist.

Lena Hardt at DNA models

DD: Who's your horror icon?

Lena Hardt: Chucky!

DD: If you were a vampire, who would like to bite?

Lena Hardt: Kate Moss.

DD: Dinner with Dracula, lunch with the exorcist or a weekend with peeping Tom?

Lena Hardt: Dinner with Dracula sounds like fun.

Clara Nergårdh at DNA models

DD: What’s your poison?

Clara Nergårdh: Felix Felicis [a magical potion from Harry Potter].

DD: If you could turn back time, which Halloween outfit would you erase from your memory?

Clara Nergårdh: None, or maybe the "sexy" outfits. Halloween outfits are supposed to be scary.

DD: If you were a ghost, who would come back to haunt?

Clara Nergårdh: I would haunt all xenophobic and homophobic people to try to teach them a lesson.

Larissa Hofmann at DNA models

DD: Who's your horror icon?

Larissa Hofmann: Lee Alexander McQueen – shocking and inspiring! A Genius.

DD: Beetlejuice or Rocky Horror?

Larissa Hofmann: Rocky Horror is a classic! Once my Dad went as Riff Raff for Halloween, I remember as a kid I was really frightened by it – now it makes me laugh! I love Tim Burton too!!

DD: If you were a vampire, who would like to bite?

Larissa Hofmann: So…you can only bite if you're a vampire?
