Fashion / ShowDior SS14Techno floral prints and silver embellished jacquard under a surreal tropical canopyShareLink copied ✔️September 28, 2013FashionShowTextEmma WymanDior SS14 Initial reaction: Floral fantasia garden party rave. Set: The venue dripped with surreal tropical forest fauna; colourful flocked tree branches, wisteria, and birds of paradise flowers. Stand out looks: Stripes of block text on dresses mixed with techno floral prints, ballooned and pleated organza skirts reminiscent of an upside down flower. Viral moment: Two shows in one. The finale was comprised of completely different looks to what was in the show: black tailoring mixed with silver embellished jacquard dress, gowns and draped tops. All looks were finished with a houndstooth school badge on the chest. How they wore it: Adorned with dripping beaded necklaces reminiscent of the wisteria strewn set. Progression: Developments on last season’s beautiful knit wear; semi transparent pastel coloured techno versions of cable knit jumpers. Unexpected details: Deconstructed men’s shirting dresses with crystal racer back details. Soundtrack: Began with dreamy classical music and progressed into techno: Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony no. 9. Scherzo (Molto Vivace) and a remix of Kylie Minogue’s Slow. Beauty: Slicked back diagonally parted hair, tied into a chignon, and painterly gold glitter and gold metallic eyes. For the kids: Other worldly fairy princess dresses entirely embellished in crystals. Dior SS14Escape the algorithm!
