On The Front Line: Lea Colombo

This fashion week season, Lea Colombo will hop from New York, to London, to Milan, to Paris, covering the backstage moments and catwalk shows of the high fashion designers and avant-garde visionaries for Dazed Digital.

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, 20-year-old Lea now resides in Paris. Her distinct and original photography style belies her years; her multi-layered, film-like images capture the atmosphere of a show, whether that be the unnerving entrapment of women under strip lighting at Prabal Gurung SS14, or the super-car super-luxury performance of Opening Ceremony’s SS14 debut.

Some of Lea’s most enthralling images however, are her model portraits: shining a beautiful light on the individual personalities we rarely see on the catwalk. Here Lea presents her New York Fashion Week as an arresting diary of portraits.
