She frequented The Fashion Spot, and since her first post on Style Bubble, a three-a-day post ritual has been “the most consistent thing I’ve ever done.” She caught an early wave in the infancy of social media, and hung on for the ride. Susie built her following the best way she knew: by getting excited about what she genuinely admired, and interacting with her followers. Instead of polluting her fanbase with too many social media channels, she narrowed her focus to include the main players: Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. She was also a social sponge on the receiving end of tweets. By showing up to fashion shows dressed in crowd-halting ensembles, the conversation surrounding her has elevated her status as the preeminent fashion commentator. The underpinning of social media to umbrella her clear opinions and thoughts made her an easy choice to judge Glacéau vitaminwater’s #shinebright competition. Bubble, alongside six other cultural entrepreneurs, will mentor cutting edge creatives. Entrants will be given the opportunity to win a two day internship with Susie to get hands on training on how to set up and manage their own style blog during LFW, and work with Susie on her own commissions for London Fashion Week, along with potential access to some of the shows. Mikey Trapstar is also one of six mentors for the #shinebright project. Founder of urban streetwear label Trapstar, his influence among fashion’s earliest adopters and a stockpile of repute (read: Cara Delevingne, A$AP Rocky, Rita Ora and Rihanna) plunged his label into the people’s consciousness. Despite its menswear offering, women are also flocking to Trapstar’s wares. For #shinebright, Trapstar is offering the chance to collaborate on a pop up store showcase, giving the winner a springboard to gain exposure. Much like Bubble, photographer Theo Gosselin has harvested a cult following on Tumblr. His photos were a precursor to Instagram, and his documentary style will be a learning aid for the winner of his prize, an on-location Parisian photoshoot. Other mentors include Makemylemonade Lisa, Jenny Grettve, and Trine Kjaer. Glacéau vitaminwater's #shinebright competition launches today. Click here to enter the competition. Escape the algorithm!
