When you've partied like von Furstenberg – and have your own Warhol portrait – it's natural to be your own museShareLink copied ✔️February 11, 2013FashionShowTextKatherine BernardPhotographyMark ReayDiane von Furstenberg AW1317 Imagesview more + For her AW13 collection, Diane von Furstenberg looked to her own roots. Young DvF was present in the elegant 70s ethos, as well as in the renaissance of her "very, very, very first print", which she designed when she was 23. The classic chain link was recreated in 3D then swirled to create an update that's an instant classic. Of course, the staple DvF wrap dresses were present, but this season in sienna suede or black with a leather lapel. If that sounds like a pretty tame version of the 70s, it's because I haven't told you yet about Diane's David Bowie moment. Coats with metallic flame licks, a purple croc jacket, shiny pink pants and a sprinkle of sequins could be seen from any row. DvF said it best, then and now: "They're clothes for you to take life as a party." www.dvf.com Hair: Orlando Pita Makeup: James Kaliardos Models pictured: Lindsey Wixson (@lindseywixson), Ava Smith (@Avakattos), Andreea Diaconu (@andreadiaconu_), Catherine McNeil (@MeowcatMccat), Cara Delevingne (@caradelevingne), Zuzanna Bijoch (@BijochZuzanna), Fei Fei Sun (@FeiFeiSunSun), Josephine Skriver (@JosephinSkriver), Nadja Bender (@NadjaBender), Alana Zimmer (@RealAlanaZimmer) Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MORE‘Britain feels like Disneyland’ Glenn Martens on a big Brit-inspired collabGlamour and grunge: A new Dazed shoot celebrates Sisley K’s arrivalMiu Miu gets arty in Paris, plus more fashion news you missed‘He was the ultimate canvas’: Transforming Jacob Elordi into FrankensteinIn pictures: The best street style from a historic Paris Fashion WeekVivienne Westwood’s final project rejuvenates her iconic tits t-shirtIt’s official: Maria Grazia Chiuri is taking over FendiIn pictures: The wildest street style moments at London Fashion WeekJoshua Ewusie was the breakout star of London Fashion WeekTrashy Clothing’s SS26 collection is lifting fashion’s veil of glamourA cult Chicago painter inspired Kiko Kostadinov’s latest showCrack is back at McQueen!
