Film To celebrate the arrival of the long awaited debut collection from Louis W. for A.P.C., in store tomorrow, Dazed Digital exclusively premieres 'Odyssey', a short film inspired by the collection, directed by NY-based French directors Adrien Cothier and Louis Levy. Also known as 'Chinese Bookie', the young filmmakers are close friends of the designer and have also created music videos for the likes of Gesaffelstein. Classic French Nouvelle Vague films were the key inspiration for the video. 'Odyssey' is a modern take on the iconic Jean Luc Godard film 'Contempt': "We used 'Contempt' as a starting point but the result is contemporary,” explains the designer. Although inspired by a classic narrative, the film tells a modern love story that happens between grimey nightclubs, quiet hotel rooms and desolate American highways. The film stars Frankie Kraft, a young L.A. actor obsessed with Leonardo Di Caprio and photographer Bruno Staub from the Louis W. campaign; two characters in love. "It was obvious that the story should deal with an ambiguous idea of love", explains the designer. Louis W.'s capsule collection will be available in stores from Wednesday the 10th of October CreditsDirected by Adrien Cothier & Louis LevyProduced by Grant Curatola, Dean C.
