Hermès' menswear designer Veronique Nichanian knows exactly who her man is, how he thinks and instinctively what he wants to wear – beautifully realised clothes in incredible quality with precision detailing. Of course her story relates very much to French style, a creative eye and the nonchalance of not trying too hard. Dressed well but not being consumed by your look in other words, the courtesy of leaving room for your personality to shine through. Her Spring/Summer 13 collection offered the classics, the beautiful tailoring she is known for, but little kicks too, pushing in very intuitive ways. Leather t-shirts with zip necks showed collarbone; a t-shirt was realised in fluid alligator (a real technical feat); a baseball story ran through fine sweaters, luxe button-up shirts with placket piping and raglan sleeved outerwear whilst colour popped through a pastel lime story.
