Based in New York, he keeps us updated with the freshest faces and strongest girls, as well as working on catwalk shows and campaigns internationally across New York, London, Milan and Paris. Here, we get the lowdown on his NYCFW experiences... I'm excited to see some of the girls that really broke at the end of last season in Europe for their first season in NYC – Marte Mei Van Haaster and Kati Nescher being two girls I love Dazed Digital: Where are you at the moment?Noah Shelley: Right now I'm sitting in a photo studio, sorting out a couple of rotation issues for Peter Som's shows tomorrow. You know, super glamorous fashion shit... But Iʼve been at Richard Chai, he had a show in between. DD: How was Richard Chai?Noah Shelley: Richie's show was nearly perfect I would say. Robbie and Richie did an amazing job focusing the run of show and they and I spent a lot of time with the collection and the models refining it to what we hoped was a clear story and a unified vision for the clothes. I thought everyone and everything felt just right. And it seemed like people were really happy. At least the models were! DD: Have you seen any new faces you think will have a strong New York season?Noah Shelley: Well, I'm excited to see some of the girls that really broke at the end of last season in Europe for their first season in NYC – Marte Mei Van Haaster and Kati Nescher being two girls I love. Of the newbies I've seen, Kremi and Sofia Mar at Ford both offer that strength and elegance I think is working right now. Julia S at Elite (who feels like a baby Kasia Struss), Thairene at Ford and Ava at Wilhelmina are a couple of the ones I'm keeping my eye on for sure. But for right now Maria Bradley seems like the vibe of the week – for me at least! DD: What are you beginning to work on now?Noah Shelley: Tonight when all of this is slowing down I get to start really focusing on Preen's show. The team arrives tomorrow and we begin casting. Thatʼs an exciting show and we always get to do really wonderful things each season! DD: What's been your highlight of the day?Noah Shelley: Talking to you guys – duh. Nah, I got to see my girlfriend for 5 minutes backstage at Lincoln Center, she was doing some floral sets for another brand. Itʼs a nutty time of year, and I work long hours – so I donʼt usally get to see the people I love mid-day in the middle of fashion week. That made my day. DD: What's your plan for tonight? Going out?Noah Shelley: Out? Man the idea seems insane. I think people in fashion who donʼt work on shows get to have all the fun. It's pretty rare I get out this time of year. That being said it is my best friend's birthday. I should probably make an exception. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
