Whether she’s mixing up a grain-free gateau, working the runway, or fulfilling the prophecy of finding a new hot internet girl with Charli xcx and co, Gabbriette Betchel is the online it-girl known for her gothic glam. Her pencil-thin or bleached brows, jet black hair and kubrick stare have become an aesthetic blueprint, copied by everyone from Amelia Grey to Lady Gaga. But how does she achieve her influential look? Well, she filmed her day-to-day 12-step beauty routine for Dazed Beauty to show us.

To kick off her routine, Gabbriette begins with skincare, applying moisturiser followed by Drunk Elephant’s sunscreen, a product that she swears by for its non-comedogenic formula. “It’s the only sunscreen that doesn’t break me out,” she tells Dazed. Next, she uses a Marc Jacobs concealer to cover up the redness around her nose, chin and forehead, blending it in with her fingers and making sure to leave her distinctive dark circles untouched. She then uses Fenty Beauty’s Invisamatte Powder, laying it around her nose and lining her lower cheeks.

Then it’s time for her signature skinny high-arch brows which, she reveals, actually came about through necessity. “My eyebrows are super sparse. If I had beautiful thick eyebrows I’d probably keep those but mine just look crazy when they’re growing out ” she tells Dazed. “I like to only tweeze the bottom.. because I want my eyebrows higher up on my face.” She then defines her brows with a Byredo pencil, focusing solely on the top, to sharpen their shape and fill in her arch.

She then applies a white eyeshadow from MAC, which she says is her most used make-up product. After applying it up to her brow bone, she then uses Rockins Cosmetics’ Big Fat Liner for a subtle look, pushing the liner into her top lash, followed by the brand’s black eyeliner along her waterline. To complete her eye look, she makes some final touches with the Byredo Astronomical mascara to bring the volume.

Leaving her cheekbones bare, she then applies MILK Makeup blush to her temple, creating what she describes as “a little sunburn”. “I don’t really touch my cheek area, I like that to be naturally moist,” she explains. The star is known for her moody neutral lip, recently launching her own MAC lip combo kit, this time she uses the Makeup Forever Endless Cacao lip liner with a MAKE lip gloss in shade Nude Nova. And for the final touch, she applies a quick re-powder to set everything in place.
