February puts us on the fast track to the future, as we kick off the second month of 2024 in the rebellious and eccentric sign of Aquarius. We start the month navigating shiny new terrain, as Pluto, newly in Aquarius, guards overhead, making sure we leave the rigid structures of the past behind. We are invited to exercise more sporadic and inventive ways of living, earning and expressing. We are provided clear evidence of changing mindsets, experiencing a shuffling of the status quo, as the personal planets move into the hyper-aware sign of the Water-Bearer. Aquarius is solution-oriented, and wants to see the future, fast. It’s the sign of the inventive genius, the holistic activist and the avant-garde social media personality. With all planets stationed direct, the keyword for February is ‘progress’, as we utilise our respective spheres and make connections for the year ahead. The astrological weather makes all signs forward-thinking and cerebral, but doesn’t always bode well for romance.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t really belong in Aquarius season, as we become more aloof and detached. We prefer our space and would rather not connect too deeply without the buffer of a friend or phone. As the sign of the Water-Bearer rules mass communication, media and messaging are highlighted, as well as new ideas, particularly when Mercury enters Aquarius on February 4.

On February 9, a New Moon in the sign of the Water-Bearer enhances our hopes and dreams. Utilise this date to daydream your way through prospective timelines and feel into the potent promise of your ideal reality. It is an excellent day to practise breathwork, meditation or revisit your 2024 resolutions with a more generous mindset.

War God Mars enters Aquarius on the 12th, assisting us in pairing our crystalline visions with action. While we may have our heads in the clouds, pondering alternate realities, the personal planets in Aquarius square off with Jupiter in Taurus. The grounded nature of Taurus can feel at odds with these cerebral configurations. We may experience a push and pull between our material desires, the frenzy of ideas flooding our heads. We are reminded to ground, and occasionally put down our phones, to honour the sacred imperatives of our bodies. As Jupiter in Taurus also corresponds with money, we could see some shocking ups and downs in online currencies.

Venus joins Mars in Aquarius on 16th, and we are romanticising change, eager to make new connections and contacts. The week of Valentine’s Day is overseen by Pluto, God of the Underworld and the Subconscious, adding some intensity to the mix.  Both planets will convene with Pluto briefly, insisting on interpersonal transformation and making it impossible for us to conceal our true feelings – for better or worse. This is a checkpoint for our relationships, friendships included. This can either take an existing relationship to a deeper level, or burn it out. We may find ourselves at odds with those who are regressing whilst we are evolving, or vice-versa.

On the 18th of the month, the Sun moves into watery Pisces, moving us from our heads to our hearts. Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac, and the most evolved of the Water Signs, amplifies our inner worlds. We desire emotional reprieve and spiritual assistance. We are imaginative, intuitive and empathetic, keenly aware of what we need to surrender to the void. As always, this season can feel dream-like and fantastical, as an air of unreality casts an atmospheric haze over our ability to accomplish. A Full Moon in Virgo on the 24th adds some contrast and encourages us to finetune our routines. We are called to inspect the axis between the physical and spiritual, and eliminate patterns of avoidance or escapism. The month ends with a cazimi between Mercury and Saturn in Pisces, occurring on the 28th. As stern Saturn delivers harsh reality checks, look out for clear information about what you need to let go of. Saturn wants us to integrate our intuitive information, and commands a definitive ending to dilly-dallying and delusions, in order to pave the way for self-preservation and longevity.
