Everything we know so far about Kim Kardashian’s skincare line

The trend of celebrity skincare brands is showing no signs of slowing down

There’s nothing the Kardashians love more than a trip down to the Patent and Trademark Office and Kim’s latest journey brings some big beauty news – a new skincare line. At the end of March, Kardashian filed to trademark the name SKKN by KIM across a number of categories including skincare, hair care, nail products, perfumes, and candles. 

This is not the first we are hearing about this latest venture. News of a possible skincare range came earlier this year after Coty took a 20 per cent stake in Kardashian’s make-up brand KKW Beauty which launched in 2017. The Business of Fashion revealed at the time that the $200 million deal included plans to develop a skincare line to roll out in 2022. 

While there’s no news on what type of products will be launching as part of SKKN, Kardashian has been open in the past about her experiences with psoriasis, even releasing a body foundation with KKW Beauty to cover the skin condition, so perhaps some of the range will be suitable for those similarly affected.

Even the Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner, has hinted at her own line of anti-aging skincare to come in the near future. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal last month Jenner said she has always been obsessed with her skin and about five years ago decided to formulate a skincare range that emulates her own daily routine. “So I do have a skincare line that I love that’s ready to go … When the time is right, a year from now, maybe two — I just think it’s really important for older women to realize that if they just take care of their skin, it’s not complicated,” she said. In February of this year, Jenner trademarked Kris Jenner Beauty, Kris Jenner Skin, and Kris Jenner Skincare covering haircare and skincare. 

So, if you were hoping the celebrity skincare brand bubble was soon to be bursting, I’m sorry to tell you we’re not there just yet.
