The sex toy brand which recently collaborated with Lily Allen has developed the world’s first eco and biodegradable toy dubbed the Premium Eco with the aim of proving that sustainable pleasure is the future of the industry. As part of its effort to show that there is demand for sustainable sex toy options, Womanizer has launched a crowdfunding campaign. Since kicking off yesterday (March 29), the brand has already raised over 90 per cent of its $20,000 goal, but finances aren’t its main incentive, and, in fact, it is donating 100 per cent of the proceeds from the campaign to environmental non-profit One Tree Planted. “The Womanizer Premium eco campaign aims to prove that an orgasm doesn’t need to cost the earth,” the brand says. “By meeting our funding goal, we hope to show the industry and other sex toy manufacturers there is measurable demand for sustainability in pleasure.” Premium Eco, which will be released on Earth Day, will be the first major, mass-produced recyclable sex toy. For the product, Womanizer has eliminated plastic, replacing it with the biopolymer biolene which is synthesised from renewable raw materials – mostly corn starch. All parts of the toy can be individually recycled and even the charging cable has been trimmed down to bring the fossil-fuel plastic content right down to a minimum To support the cause and get your hands on a Premium Eco head over to the crowdfunding campaign here.
