Earlier this month, Miley Cyrus dropped the music video for new single “Midnight Sky” – an 80s-inspired disco bop of a song full of synth pop production that samples Stevie Nicks classic “Edge of Seventeen”.

The video is equally 80s-inspired and sees Cyrus dressing up her queer mullet (shoutout to mum Tish) with full Studio 54-esque make-up that would look at home on the chicest of freaks: a glossy bold red lip enhanced by glittering purple eyes, strong brows, and lots of highlighter. 

Following the release of the video, fans and make-up artists have been taking to Instagram with their own versions of the look originally by Janice Daoud and Cyrus is seriously impressed. The singer has been sharing the recreations – some that come complete with peroxide blonde wigs – to her 114 million followers on her own Instagram stories. See some of the best here.
