This year, Pride is going back to its roots. With the COVID-19 pandemic raining on almost every Pride’s parade, celebratory marches and parties all around the world have been cancelled. And as the world takes a stand against police brutality and institutionalized racism, we remember that without Black people and transgender people the LGBTQ+ community would not have the rights it has today. The purpose of Pride has revealed its true colours: less partying, more political action.
